Colorado Brownfields Foundation Executive Director Appointed to Petroleum Storage Tank Committee
Littleton, CO (March 5, 2010) – Jesse Silverstein, Executive Director of the Colorado Brownfields Foundation, was appointed by Governor Bill Ritter, Jr. on September 11, 2009 to serve on the Petroleum Storage Tank Committee.
Jesse has extensive experience in preparing real estate market studies, financial analysis and fiscal impact analysis for a variety of public-private redevelopment and urban renewal projects. His experience includes positions as partner with the Development Resource Partners economic consulting, Director at Equitable Real Estate Investment Management and Chief Appraiser for the Resolution Trust Corporation (FDIC) in Washington, D.C. Jesse has and continues to work closely with CDPHE and OPS staff on brownfields projects.
The Petroleum Storage Tank Committee (PSTC) is comprised of seven members who have technical expertise and knowledge in the fields related to corrective actions taken to mitigate underground and aboveground storage tank releases. The three permanent members are the Director of the Division of Oil and Public Safety (or designee), the Executive Director of the Department of Labor and Employment (or designee), and a petroleum storage tank owner/operator. The other four members on the committee may represent one of the following groups: Fire protection districts, elected local governmental officials, companies that refine and retail motor fuels in Colorado, companies that wholesale motor fuels in Colorado, owners and operators of independent retail outlets, companies that conduct corrective actions or install and repair underground and aboveground storage tanks, and private citizens or interest groups.
Colorado Brownfields Foundation is a 501(c)(3) Colorado nonprofit organization dedicated to removing environmental obstacles to economic and community development. CBF partners with communities, local governments, other non profits, and commercial enterprises to help reuse and redevelop brownfields sites.
