Ribbon Cutting for New Home on Site of Former Meth Lab
Littleton, CO (December 8, 2010) – Colorado Brownfields Foundation (CBF) invites the public to join Mayor Joyce Downing at the ribbon cutting ceremony for a new home in Northglenn, Colorado on Tuesday December 14, 2010 at 10:00 am, 11031 Pearl Way (80233). The property was the site of a former meth operation, which police discovered and closed down more than two years ago. The property remained vacant and untended until CBF took possession of the property in June 2010. CBF cleaned the contamination and razed the meth lab, thus repositioned the site for redevelopment.
With grant assistance from its partner the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), CBF worked with Gobbell Hays Partners, Inc. and LVI Environmental Services, Inc. to manage the cleanup and remediation phase of the project, which involved the removal of asbestos and meth contamination. Community Builders, Inc, a local builder, partnered with CBF to build the new home on the site and is looking forward to introducing a new family to the neighborhood.
Steve Davis, Community Builders, along with General Contractor Charlotte Perry of Construction Solutions, managed the redevelopment of the property, which included building a new home with modern, energy-efficient features. The new home, a 3 bedroom with 1 3/4 bath, has approximately 1800 square feet including a full basement. The property, with its new landscaping and charming curb appeal is ready to welcome its new home owners to this pleasant and well established neighborhood. The home is offered through Mark Edson, Shift Real Estate, www.shiftre.com, 303.333.1891.
